Miscommunication, Lack of communication, misinterpretation, Unintended consequences to actions or words, Different worldviews, models of God, Models of Faith etc…

Lack of communication causes worst case thinking.

Lack of the transparency of information. This generates mistrust.

Communication styles may be different, especially as regards male and female, different cultures etc… Even the use of similar terms may have to be defined and refined.

When people or groups feel attacked they go on the defensive and stop listening and start defending themselves. It is better to use "I" statements rather than "You" statements.

Don’t bargain over positions. Aim at not being right but at doing right. Refer to chart of "Soft vs. Hard" Negotiating styles.
